The End Of An Era

Today one of the best players ever blindsided Australia by announcing that he will retire after the 2011 season. Darren Lockyer has decided this season will be his last as a rugby league player.


The reaction amongst the fans is a bit varied, but can mostly be wrapped up into three words "Nooooo", "Ledgend!" and "Shattered".

No doubt this will have an effect on the Brisbane Broncos, a team which has had it's ups and downs the last year or so, but with the decision coming this early in the season, they will have plenty of time to prepare.

BBS blog is happy that we've had the change to experience the end of an era, but we're sad to see him go. We hope he'll go out with a bang, though. With a premiership.
